I originally designed the Hudzee Hard Drive case to solve a consumer need with data storage and archiving.  Many of our clients were archiving their data to expensive external hard drives in aluminum enclosures with custom power cables and connectors.  These were then stored in their original boxes on the shelf, and took up lots of physical space.
Why pay for all of the aluminum, power supply, parts, and electronics if all that was critical was the data stored on the internal drive itself?  There was a market need for a safe and effective way to store Bare Internal Hard Drives in protective cases, and with "Drive Docks" and hot-swappable SATA drives becoming prevalent, all that was needed was a premium protective case to store them.
Please note the detail images!  I love to hide cool design elements in neat places.
